Scientific Hypothesis
- Combinations of crop, tillage, sowing, and cutting/pruning can maintain the yield and effectively control weeds
- A 3D canopy-root model can predict above and below competition between cash and service crops, and weeds
- Above- and below-ground competition can be managed using sensing and operating robots
Aims
- Identify optimal combinations of crops, tillage, sowing, and cutting/pruning
- Validate 3-D competition model
- Develop real-time robotic systems for monitoring and interventions
