Focus Area 5
Digital Twins
Scientific Hypothesis
A digital twin provides a shared information base that improves decision-making across all four areas by linking acro-ecological knowledge, perception, and robot control, both in simulation and with physical robots
Aims
Develop digital twins that integrate relevant models for robotic support for intercropping systems at different layers:
- modelling a farm/field in which robot operations are simulated
- modelling a crop canopy in which the robots can act and operate
- modelling the plant growth and development to plan robot tasks for managing competition among cash crops, service crops, and weeds
