Kick-Off and Project Meeting (25 – 26 March 2026)
The Robotic Intercropping (RIC) project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting held in Rungstedgaard, bringing together researchers, stakeholders, and representatives from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
RIC is developing robotic technologies to help farmers grow multiple crops together more efficiently, improving biodiversity, productivity, and sustainability.
Over the two days, participants introduced the project’s research activities, aligned on shared scientific goals, explored how robotics can support sustainable intercropping systems, and identified opportunities for collaboration and student involvement.
Why this Matters
The meeting marked the beginning of collaboration between researchers, industry partners, and advisors. By establishing shared priorities from the outset, the consortium laid the foundation for developing robotic technologies that can support more sustainable and productive farming systems.

Day 1 – Presentations
Featured presentations from the project partners, introducing the research areas, objectives, and planned activities. Members of the Scientific Advisory Board and stakeholder representatives also shared their perspectives and provided valuable feedback.
Day 2 – Workshops
Focused on interactive workshops, where participants discussed collaborative research activities, brainstormed student projects, and reviewed the planned project illustration video. These sessions strengthened collaboration across the consortium and helped shape the next steps for the project.
